Back, new, improved, & ready to rock all things fashion, hair, perfume, & makeup!

Hi, all.......I've taken a hiatus for a while in order to gain direction, refocus, and find out what really ignites my fashion passion and WHY and HOW this would matter to you, my readers.  I'm going to start with week with two things: Eye makeup and perfume.

By the end of the week, I'll be back in full swing, and most importantly, I'll make this whole blog worth YOUR while.  It will be somewhat about me so that I can relate it to you.  But really, this is your blog, and I want to cover your interests.  I'll be revamping my bio to give you a clearer image of me both as a "fashionista" and as a person.

Warning: I use sarcasm - a lot.  But I'm not a mean-spirited person, so I think you'll get a laugh or two even as you learn.

I'm not limited in topic(s) - we can even talk about beauty supplements, diets, and more, but I do want to keep it in the realm of personal health, style, and appearance.  So send me your questions, suggestions, & ideas!  I want to hear from YOU!

You may email me at HallofCouture@gmail.com, connect with me on Linked In, and follow me on Twitter (WordsmithHall).  So let's get started!  My first "new & improved" article will be up and ready by Valentine's Day (this coming Saturday, guys!).

With love, dear readers!

Hall of Couture Launch! Where fashion, haute couture, humor, & trend-setting collide....

Hi, and welcome! I'm Nancy Hall, a fashion fan with an eye for the edgy as well as the classic. More than someone who has been wanting to write since I was about 4, I'm someone who has repeatedly been told that I should write.  My passions include writing, fashion, and music, so I intend to combine them all here...Yes, music, too -- Look at Gwen Stefani, for instance, my fashion idol!  And Debbie Harry, Queen of Cool (then and now!).  They go hand-in-hand, really.  Humor is important, too.  I don't believe in mean-spirited attacks, but I do like to have some fun.

So, what, then, is my resume?  Well, let's see if I can combine some interesting facts and experiences --  In short, I'm very conscious of my own personal style.  I like class-meets-edgy, as I firmly believe both are possible.  I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in English, a Masters degree in teaching, and am in the process of getting my doctorate in education.  I believe knowledge for knowledge's sake. I love to travel -- I'm based in the U.S.A., but I've lived in England and, briefly, in Crete.  I've visited Austria, Bulgaria, France (including Paris), Germany (including Munich), Holland, Italy (including Milan), Japan (including Tokyo), Morocco, and Scotland.  The next on my list is Brazil!

I LOVE to travel!

I get lots of compliments on my hair and clothes from complete strangers - That qualifies me in the eyes of at least some of the general public.  :-)  I was a "regular extra" on In the Heat of the Night.  I studied Art History and British History at Oriel College, Oxford University (summer1989).  I've worked as a sales consultant for Nordstrom (and spent most of my own paycheck on Michael Kors & L.A.M.B.!....oh, and plenty of Betsey Johnson....).  I am also well known for my perfumes -- I know what works for me and what doesn't.  Top fragrances for me?  Everyone's chemistry is different, but my faves are currently: Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue, L.A.M.B.'s L, Elie Saab (at Neimanmarcus.com), True Religion's Hippie Chic, Coco Chanel's Mademoiselle, M.A.C.'s Turquatic, Georgio Armani's Armani Code, Givency’s Ange Ou Demon Le Secret, Calvin Klein's Euphoria, Harajuku's "G," Lady Million by Paco Rabanne, and Estee Lauder's Pure White Linen.  I get the most compliments on Light Blue, Armani Code, Euphoria, Hippie Chic, and "L."

(Btw, Stephenie Meyer, author of the Twilight saga, and I definitely agree on Blue October, my favorite band -- She cites them as an inspiration, and I completely concur -- My husband and I got to meet the band Blue October at a V.I.P. event in Midtown Atlanta on October 1, 2012, and they're a gracious, wonderful, meaningful, relatable band and their management ROCKS!).

I've been told more than once that I should be a "sit down comedian."  Well, humor sells.  Why?  Because people love to laugh.  I know I do.

So let me "vogue" with you, laugh with you, set trends with you, and spot style before the public knows it's really style.....Join me here at my blog, Hall of Couture, and twitter, @hallofcouture. Where intelligence, humor, COOL, chic, vogue, music, and edgy DO co-exist!

Oh, and one more thing, Kelly Osbourne is The Fashion Police princess!  No one else rocks lavender hair like she does!  She's so fresh, funny, classy, and in tune with fashion...Love you, Kelly!

(P.S. My best advice for life -- NEVER SETTLE for a partner.  My husband Brad's a supportive angel!)
